Greenly further stated that the company has approximately 3 million engineering hours of robotic operations. Greenley stated, “We supported the preparation of strategies, provided logistical assistance in the control centers, and offered operational support. In regards to providing a technological approach, we have such an immense advantage of organizational expertise which we can give to key stakeholders worldwide to aid them run robots.”
As Maxar delivers the software and hardware necessary for running the project, MDA delivers the motor and arm electronics of the SPIDER to Maxar. The news release stated that the SPIDER’s motor and arm electronics control and drive every joint of the robot and the interface between the cameras and joints. According to Greenley, the contract gives MDA an advantageous opportunity to monopolize the emerging on-orbit market, hence the success in the business space electronics and robotics market. Analysts tabulate that the robotics space industry will produce $4.5 billion in revenue in ten years. MDA has scheduled to offer the electronic to Maxar by 2021.
